A builder’s standard robe is a rail, a shelf and a set of doors sized to whatever the framer left behind. A custom robe is measured to your room after the walls are up, and built around what you actually own.
Most homes in Baldivis, Waikiki and Secret Harbour were handed over with a builder’s robe insert, and they fail the same three ways. The rail sits at one height, so short garments waste the metre of air beneath them. The single top shelf is too deep to reach and too high to use. And nothing accounts for a wall that is out of square, a bulkhead or a raked ceiling, so the doors bind, or a 90mm gap gets covered with a scribe strip and called finished.
We measure after plaster, not off the plan. Every carcass is cut to that measurement.
